A Moment in Time

I came across the wedding of Caroline & Clark on the blog Snippet & Ink and fell in love with their photos. Their photographer, A Bryan Photo, did an amazing job capturing the true emotions of the day. One photo in particular that stood out showed the groom the moment he caught sight of his bride at the end of the isle. Magic. LOVE!

I think it's fair to say the wedding of HRH Prince William & Catherine Middleton on Friday certainly lived up to everyone's expectations. With over 2 billion people worldwide tuning in to watch the nuptials and 1 million people lining the streets of London to celebrate it has certainly reignited the worlds love and infatuation with the British monarchy. Possibly the greatest kept secret of the day was Kate's dress and after much speculation it was announced she was wearing a gown designed by Sarah Burton, head of famed British houseAlexanda McQueen. Made of ivory and white satin gazar with a train of just over 6 feet long, the Royal website notes "the skirt echoes an opening flower, with white satin gazar arches and pleats. The ivory satin bodice, which is narrowed at the waist and padded at the hips, draws on the Victorian tradition of corsetry and is a hallmark of Alexander McQueen’s designs". With her hair down Kate wore a stunning Cartier halo tiara on loan from the Queen and diamond earrings given to her by her parents made especially to match the tiara. According to reports Middleton worked closely with Burton to create the formula for her gown, with obvious notes taken from Grace Kelly's famous wedding gown. There's no doubt that Kate's look will forever be replicated by bride's worldwide as have the looks so many famous brides in the past. Kate's sister and lady in waiting, Pippa Middleton, also wore a custom made McQueen gown complete with little sleeves, a cowl neck and covered buttons. Kate's second gown, for the 80's themed evening party, was another McQueen creation with embellished waist band and finished off with a super cute angora cardigan. Princess chic perfection! Kate carried a bouquet of Lilly of the Valley, which also represents 'trust' when refrencing the 'language of flowers', a floral code made popular by Queen Victoria








Kate's second gown for the evening celebration was another McQueen creation with embellished waist band and angora cardigan


The amazing cake was crafted by Fiona Cairns and took five weeks to design. The cake, consisting of 17 individual fruit cakes, was decorated in cream and white icing with 900 delicate sugar-paste flowers

Simon Strong Real Wedding - Julia Downs &

For their recent wedding in New South Wales Julia & Simon wanted the feel of their big day to be, most imporantly, homely. Choosing vintage, nostalgic and handmade undertones, they created more than just a homely feel. The day was filled to the brim with love, happiness and lots of emotion. They held their wedding in The Q Stations Govenor Bourke Room surrounded by family and friends. Julia opted for a Maggie Sottero gown and being the clever girl she is she even did her own bouquet! The palette was mainly neutral with a bold splash of yellow to celebrate Australia's colonial roots. A big congratulations to Julia & Simon!

Michael Matarazzo Real Wedding - Deb James &

On South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula, Deb & Michael married on 29th January 2011 at the picturesque Waverley Estate in the beachside town of Port Elliot. In front of 125 guests they exchanged their vows on a warm, sunny afternoon. There's no denying that the fabulous photography by the very talented Pete Thornton from Event Imaging has perfectly captured the relaxed, happy and love-filled day. The gorgeous bride, in a magical cotton and silk blend Akira gown, was the definition of a glowing, thanks in-part to the makeup artist from Ocea Beauty Bar. There's no denying the love between Deb & Michael shines through in these photographs. We loved the colourful and casual flowers, the brides dress and the polaroid photo's taken by guests for the Bride & Groom as keepsakes. Real Wedding Karen & Paul

One or our favourite weddings from our autumn issue was Karen and Pauls at Gunners' Barracks. It was a fun and relaxed wedding that really celebrated their love. Karen incorporated a lot of thoughtful touches that helped make their day unique to them.







We didn't have space in the magazine to show the stationery that Karen designed for her wedding. Below is the screen printed invite as well as the balloon hens party invitation - such great ideas!



Karen and Paul's wedding was shot by Bradley Patrick from SugarLove Weddings. Bradley has also just launched his new commercial  which showcases a lot of the celebrity work he has done.
